Battle River School Division is seeking applications for the following:
Position: 2026-2027 Administrator Pool Positions
Intent: There is an anticipated need for Administrative positions for the 2026-27 school year at various locations throughout Battle River School Division. These positions will include administrative and teaching duties based on the qualifications of the successful candidate and the needs of the school. Applicants to this pool may also be considered for future administrative vacancies that arise for the 2026-2027 school year. Current anticipated openings are:
Principal Openings:
- Round Hill School
- Ryley School (February 2027 start)
- Sparling School
- Central High Sedgewick Public School
- Daysland School
- Summer School & Reading University (Summer 2026)
- Division Principal
Assistant Principal Openings:
- Bawlf School
- CW Sears School
- Central High Sedgewick Public School
- Hay Lakes School
- Sparling School
Applicants are asked to clearly state in their cover letter the position(s) they would like to be considered for and/or whether they are applying generally to the pool as either a principal or assistant principal.
This posting is open to Internal and External Candidates.
Preferred candidates may have:
- Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience;
- Previous successful leadership experience;
- Proven instructional leadership skills, including exemplary interpersonal and communication skills;
- Familiarity with current trends, initiatives and directions relating to curriculum, technologies, learning styles, high school redesign/flexibility and student assessment;
- Ability to collaboratively solve problems through innovation and critical thinking;
- Ability to work effectively with students, parents, staff and community members;
- Current or previous participant in BRSD’s Aspiring Leaders Program or similar leadership program;
- A Master’s degree (or working towards completion of) in leadership or curriculum would be an asset; and
- LQS certification (Principals) and/or working towards one.
- Communication skills in French are an asset within Battle River School Division.
