BATTLE RIVER SCHOOL DIVISION is seeking applications for the following position:
DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES
POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the coordination and monitoring of all Human Resources operations of the Division. This position is responsible to the Assistant Superintendent - Human Resources.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of 5 years of successful administrative experience at the School or Division level
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Critical and creative thinker and a champion of high quality teaching and optimum student learning
- Collaborative and willingness to work as part of a team
- Demonstrated ability to give high quality verbal and written feedback
- Flexible and adaptable with a high tolerance for ambiguity
- Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal, analytical and time management skills
- Ability to work in a highly demanding and fast-paced environment
- Successful experience related to Human Resources
- Willingness to begin Human Resources approved coursework
- Ability to speak French would be considered an asset
GENERAL DUTIES:
- Participate actively in Division Leadership and in Instructional Leadership activities;
- Develop positive relationships with all stakeholders in BRSD;
- Develop organization strategies by identifying and researching human resources issues; analyze and make recommendations to organization strategic thinking and direction;
- Facilitate conflict resolution and labour relations for all employee groups;
- Establish human resources objectives in line with organizational objectives. Compliance of human resources practices within the guidelines, legislation, regulations and reporting requirements of the federal and provincial governments, including but not limited to: Human Rights Legislation, Workers Compensation Board (WCB), Local Authority Pension Plan (LAPP), Alberta Teachers Retirement Fund (ATRF), Alberta School Employee Benefit Plan (ASEBP), Division collective agreements and Division handbooks;
- Support management by providing human resources advice, counsel, and decisions; analyze information and applications;
- Provide instructional leadership support and mentorship to school Administrators and other Division Leaders;
- Guide management and employee actions by researching, developing, writing, and updating policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines;
- Communicate and enforce organization values;
- Monitor, assist and execute the recruitment, selection, placement, and transfer of all employees;
- Participate in school reviews, strategic planning, and the development of the Education Plan and AERR;
- Complete Administrator evaluations as needed;
- Implement and manage documentation of employees and HR management software;
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent - Human Resources.
